DCMF is excited to launch the application process for our 2024 Songwriter in Residence program. In partnership with the Klondike Institute of Art & Culture, North Klondyke Highway Music Society, and Parks Canada, the program provides a songwriter with time, space, and resources to research, develop, and produce new songs – or to rework and refine existing material.
Participants are invited to spend the entire month of January in Dawson City, living in a Gold Rush-era house that includes two studio spaces. The program is a rare opportunity to discover the magic of a Northern winter and to immerse yourself into the singular culture of our town.
In addition to housing and studio space, DCMF provides return travel for the selected artist (within Canada), a professional fee for a concert performed during the residency, audio equipment, a sound-proof rehearsal space, and additional resources available through our community partners!
