DCMF is excited to launch the application process for our 2026 winter residencies. Our Songwriter in Residence program has been running for 20 years. As the program enters its third decade we are expanding it to include a second residency: the Producer in Residence. This residency is designed for music producers and recording engineers, broadly defined. Both artists will have shared, unrestricted access to DCMF’s Goldensides Studio for the duration of the program.
In partnership with the Klondike Institute of Art & Culture, North Klondyke Highway Music Society, and Parks Canada, the program provides a songwriter and a music producer with time, space, and resources to research, develop, and produce new material – or to rework and refine existing music. The residencies are self directed and not outcome oriented.
Participants are invited to spend the entire month of January in Dawson City, living in a Gold Rush-era house that includes two artist studios. The program is a rare opportunity to discover the magic of a Northern winter and to immerse yourself into the singular culture of our town.
In addition to housing and studio space, DCMF provides return travel for the selected artists (within Canada), a subsistence allowance, and access to additional resources available through our community partners.
Questions about either residency can be sent to info@dcmf.com.
