2021 Dawson City Music Festival Postponed
The staff and Board of Directors of the Dawson City Music Festival Association (DCMF) regret to announce the 43rd annual DCMF, scheduled for July 16 – 18, 2021, has been postponed. A modified “bite-sized” Festival was planned with great care and caution that met all of the safety requirements set out by the Chief Medical Officer of Health: No bigtop tent, no music crawl, no KidsFest, no beer gardens, but still the same great spirit with a lineup of stellar Yukon musicians presented in the beautiful Palace Grand Theatre and at the riverfront Gazebo.
With Covid-19 currently affecting communities across Yukon, a request for postponement was made directly to the DCMF Board of Directors by the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Chief and Council earlier this week, who have cancelled or postponed their events and gatherings until at least July 31st, which we respect and uphold.
We will work closely with performers, partners and community organizations to determine a new date for our modified event and will share new dates, the lineup, and ticketing information with the public when more details are available. We look forward to bringing music to the Klondike Valley in the months to come when the time is right, and we appreciate the community’s understanding.
The Dawson City Music Festival Association urges all eligible Yukon residents to consider vaccination and strongly encourages visitors to the community to be respectful to residents and other visitors, to follow the rules and guidelines determined by each establishment and business, and to follow the guidelines set out by Yukon’s Chief Medical Officer of Health.
All our love,
The Dawson City Music Festival Association
